A very close ladder in the Championship. Is the winner declared after the 11 rounds?
I think it's Devonport's title can not see them losing this.
Good luck to Devonport for winning today but boy oh boy Pitchford makes that team look a lot better than what they are .... without him today South would have easily scored another 3 or 4 and possibly won the game and he’s saved their bacon in a number of other games this season. All teams have a star and Pitchford is obviously theirs but his defenders should have chaired him off today as they were pretty average without him
Perhaps Tony Peart can reinforce the handball laws with his refs. At two youth games in the last two weeks I have seen free kicks go against players who have played the ball and it has deflected onto their arm. Presumably the free kicks were given because the arm was away from the body. The laws state:
It is an offence if a player
touches the ball with their hand/arm when:
the hand/arm has made their body unnaturally bigger
the hand/arm is above/beyond their shoulder level (unless the player deliberately plays the ball which then touches their hand/arm)
The above offences apply even if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm directly from the head or body (including the foot) of another player who is close.
Except for the above offences, it is not an offence if the ball touches a player’s hand/arm:
directly from the player’s own head or body (including the foot)
Pitchford was the difference. Reid looks vulnerable on any set piece or aerial ball and you can see why Foley isn't at the Knights anymore.
Anon 4:32 AM.
Without a video of the incidents Tony would find it difficult to ascertain correctness of the decisions. Quoting the law without the many pages of "advice to refereees" issued by FIFA does not give the full detail of all the considerations for the referee to judge in an instant.
What you think you saw may also be different from the what the referee saw.
The Dport vs South game yesterday was a horrible standard to watch. Pitchford was outstanding by geez the league has been bad to watch this year. Need the imports back next season to boost the standard again
Yeah probably relax about being that harsh on refs in youth games, its a hard job and they take a lot of flack to step up and do a job that not many people want to do - split second decisions and all that, and I know they do put in a lot of work to get better for the most part..
They should not be above criticism but cmon, getting on a message board to complain about your under 15s ref is a bit much.
Some really really poor mistakes and lack of urgency at the back for Clarence Zebras yesterday , it looked like a few of them are just waiting for the season to finish , hope they don’t think they will get a start anywhere else next year , must be hard for David Smith to work with what he’s got but they can’t even be consistent. They actually put up a good fight against Olympia Souths and Devonport but since then they haven’t turned up to play , shame really ,
Walt, Andy Brennan has been very poor so far. That's all I've said, why do you keep deleting my comments? :(
Agree he has been poor. Looks like he is here on a holiday and not to play football. The league is probably the weakest it has been since the NPL started and he's had no impact
Don't criticise South. It very rarely makes it onto the blog but bash away at CZ or Olympia or Knights to your hearts content.
I feel like some South Hobart people are asking Walter to take down any comments that are criticising them...
And let's be honest , Andy Brennan has performed pretty averagely since he left Newcastle Jets. That's not being mean, that's just a fact. I'm not sure why Walter wants to let some players be criticised and then others can't be?
Maybe the reason South don't make it onto the blog much is because they are the ones bashing CZ, Olympia and Knights in the first place. Troublemakers who have too much time on their hands.
Not sure it's just the players to blame at Clarence.
I don't think Andy Brennan cares about the opinions of keyboard warriors, and whether he has lived up to the expectations of anonymous people.
Also, reply to Anon 7:51 AM, what do you mean "since he left Newcastle Jets"?
He had 3 years in the Vic NPL (second best comp in Aus), and in one of those years he won the championship.
And what exactly did he do in those years personally? Was in and out of Green Gully, hardly got a start for Hume and did nothing at South Melbourne the second time either... The only reason he is getting into Victorian NPL clubs is because of his "A-League experience", but his time in Tasmania sums up where he is as a player right now... Very average.
He probably cares as much as what he's shown on the field which has been nothing. South would be better playing a young kid. Disapointing
Anon 11.11 am.
You are 100% spot on. Zebras have now become just like the other club were .
Great move ........, not!
Remaining anonymous and then being critical of people you actually name is nothing less then disgusting cowardice.By all means express your opinion but take responsibility for what you say and show some respect to the people you are talking about.

Oh thats such a pathetic dig. Put your name to it to back it up. Of course you won't because your a nobody.
Anon 7.12 pm. It is fact . No need to qualify anything.
Just a comment about a situation , not people.
But true.
