Amazing comeback by Dawes after last weeks horrific injury.

What a joke if Robinson had been sent off last week.

Great decision by the referee.

Well done to the Metro lads. 5-0 at half time shows the young fellas have some guts and plenty of potential for the coming years.

It's good to know the boys are improving each week. Good to see Jayden get on the score sheet too.

Much congrats to Dawes afer a hard 50-50 with Robbo last week and has got back up and come through with the goods. Good to see a lot of spirit alive and well with the young lads!

does'nt matter if he did make a swift comeback or not. The Foul Robinson made last week was professional foul and he was the last man so it should have been a red

Terrific atmosphere at Chigwell today..with both fans having a good go at each other and the game played in the right spirit.

Unfortunately our HUFC players did not show the same hunger Metro players did. Good youth setup as well at Metro..well done Metro.

couldnt agree more, was a fantastic game and very well refereed i might add well done to metro.

metro are better than olympia....... hahahahahahahahahaha

Olympia would smash Metro.... no more needs to be said.

Anonymous said...

metro would be competitive with 5th, 6th and 7th in prem if not top four. as would beachside, nelson, uni and hobart. but as far as olympic goes they are rubbish.

Anonymous said...

metro are in div 1 for a reason... if any of there players left and went ot another club they woulsnt even make the reserves team.... if beachside come up all there players will leave as they dont want o pay as this level anymore... hobart u would not be able to keep 7 people on the park too play a full game of premier leagueand if they could it would be like 100 nil.... uni are all old and would die of a heart attack playing at the premier league level.... and odnt get me started on nelson.... all should stay where they are....

Sure thing anon 7:02pm, leave clubs like olympia and eagles in the SPL and dont give any other clubs a chance to make it. Good call.

Who says any of Beachsides players dont want to play premier league? Would they be trying to win Div 1 if they werent? Same as Uni, Metro, United, Nelson. I would say Beachside have built this squad for a reason, and it aint just to kick around.

Anon 8.32 pm.Beachside are a very good team made up of older , experienced players. That is why they are dominating in Div 1.They too would struggle in the Premier League if they moved up as is.They are good and dominate Div 1 but the step up to Premier League is much more difficult. Many of the Beachside players have already proven that they can play at that level in past years. They are playing Div 1 for other reasons and it would not be to go up to Premier League. They will struggle big time.Trust me.

Anonymous at 7.02. I believe you don't have the faintest bloody idea what your talking about. Would you like to inform all and sundry on this blog what Div 1 games youi have seen this year that earn you the right to make your learned comments about the merits of Div 1teams being able to compete. I would suggest that unless you are from South Hobart and, going by the grammar and spelling in your comments you are not, that coming from a competition where the winner has almost certainly been decided half way through the season, you have very little to skite about.

you know it makes sense said...

as a neutral observer, I think it makes sense for Taroona and Beachside to merge - could become a decent club with combined resources and player pool especially next year when some TIS lads (Foleys x2, Luttmer)return to Taroona

if u believe that players like dawes and marney couldnt get a run at a SPL club then u clearly have no idea. having played against them in the past i can assure you they would get a run.

Anonymous said...

yes my club is in the premier league but the player depth show by any teams is terrible... i mean if dawes is a good play there wait till he come to the dance in the premier league and will be killed..

???Guess who??? said...

Fact of the matter is metro, uni and hobart united have had there time in prem and have in very recent years been relegated with better teams than they have now. Beachside could compete with the bottom three or four prem teams at the moment. I wouldnt put money on them to win but they could compete on a 'good day'. As for all of these metro fans... Marney is rubbish, Dawes has some potential but needs to get to a top 4 prem side to develop. They would not get a starting run in any prem side at the moment. I played div 1 as a 15/16 year old and had success in a winning side. How ever my second season of div one was a mistake as i had learnt as much as i could. i then moved to prem and well im loving every minute of it. i still respect the div 1 competition and it is a definite alternate pathway for players but i can be realistic and say that only one team deserves to be promoted and even for this team it will be pushing their limits with out atracting premier players and youth. congrats too nelson for their youth and form this year as they are doing what is needed to better their club to succeed. and no i have never played for nelson.

Anonymous at 12.46. Are you the same anonymous at 7.02 that I asked a simple question to which you have not provided what should be a simple answer ? What Div 1 games have you seen this year to base your comments on Which game in particular did you see Marney play in to suggest he is rubbish ?

Indeed if Dawes has to play in a top 4 PL side to develop can you let us know which of the top 4 PL sides you are playing in or haven't you developed stopped ? Physically that is ! I think I already know the answer to the mental development !

Not too hard is it ?

The Dr. said...

If anyone thinks Div 1 is a joke because Beachside have it wrapped up halfway through the season, then all you have to do is look at South Hobart in SPL and you have exactly the same situation.
Sure, the general standards are lower (of course they should be!) but if you're trying to tell me 3 or 4 teams in Div 1 couldn't rack up a win (or at least 3 points) from as many games as Olympia have played, then you are kidding yourself.

Finally:
In future "I'm Back", maybe you should worry less about getting on your high horse over the socio-economical status of bloggers and their grammatical errors, and more about getting your facts straight.

I'm Back said...

Dr, what facts would they be ?

Anon 5:50pm

Olympia and every team above them would smash any Div 1 side in that league. The gap between last in the SPL and first in Div 1 is huge. Not even a contest.

I'm Back said...

Anonymous 5.50pm. Mate, I think Taroona cam up to PL this year from Div 1 last year. Can you just remind me who they beat this year and who they drew with and then we will see whether your comments have any credibility.

Again, can you tell all of us which Div 1 games you have seen this year to make that call ?

How big is that gap ?
