This weeks NPL results are indicative of the terrible state of or competition this year , The closest game was 1-1 and even the lack of skill in that that was worse than watching an under 7’s game , what the hell are we going to do ?

Im not sure what people expected? You have a couple of clubs with serious money and a heap without. Follow the titles since it started and you can follow the money ( Olympia is the perfect example). As their money dried up their decent down the ladder begun.
Lets face it Devonport have the financial resources behind them, that's not a criticism, they have a committee with vision and a hard work etc, alas, that does lead to a huge imbalance up north with the vast majority of the top players going to the biggest club with the best results, I dare say the payments available, help but there is nothing wrong with that. Obviously the situation down south is different in that the next three decent clubs after Devonport have a smaller pool to pick from. The argument that it is all about money for players is old and tired. If you look at Kingborough for example, again through hard work, they have been blessed, they inherited Lightwood Park after the baseball collapsed many years ago, the ground surface has been improved out of sight costing many many dollars, they now have major sponsors and another huge redevelopment going on, in short they have had plenty of finances behind them for a long time and plenty of opportunities to win silverware with basically no success. It ain't the money, it has to come back to the coaches and management, I would suggest the ability to retain or attract players to the top teams comes back to players making decisions to stay with coaches that can actually coach. Please don't take that as a dig to the Lions current coach. I think they lack the cattle at the moment but they might be a sleeping giant.
Nothing to lose now , I’m not sure why Zebras don’t just drop half the (hands on hips at 40 minute squad ) and play some of their best under 20’s or Champ boys and give them a chance , can’t possibly do any worse that is for damn sure !

A touch of exaggeration methinks. Yes, at times games are going to be one-sided. But there is at least a degree of levelling up this year with Kingborough and Launceston City showing they are more competitive.
What the Tassie NPL/Championship competitions need to make them more appealing is promotion/relegation.
The 5 sub rule is not helping. The fact that a team with a depth of skill on their bench can bring on virtually half a team with fresh legs is only gonna add to the score lines. Some teams struggle more now through injury and sickness and virtually no experienced bench to fall back on.
Its the facts and there are no secrets in football in Hobart. Everyone knows Olympia are a club in trouble.

I see exactly what you meant as I just watched the Launceston goal a few times because I could not believe my eyes ! The four defenders were half heartedly jogging to chase the goal scorer , he could have stopped to take a selfie for his Instagram and still scored ! Poor effort in that department , bring on some youth who really want to prove themselves and watch the difference
Reason promotion and relegation won't work is everything that is required to get an NPL license, plus the license cost. You need junior/youth setup, technical director, academy etc. The majority of championship clubs do not have this in place and takes years to set up. Not as simple as promotion/relaxation unfortunately

Lucky Brett Pullen has no hair to pull out that was just disastrous, even the goalkeeper thought they would stop him he didn’t even throw out a hand .Its really hard to come in as a new coach and try and start again but he’s been assistant coach all year so he should know what he has to deal with after watching the same week after week .Just bite the bullet and remove the rot I say like someone else said what have they got to lose ? It’s just a 3 team competition this year
This has got to be the worst year of NPL since the start of the state league/victory league/NPL era.
