Kingborough Lions United face a difficult task in making it two wins in a row when they take on South Hobart in the Forestry Tasmania Southern Premier League competition at South Hobart at 2.30pm on Saturday.
Central defender Andrew Davies has only a 50/50 chance of playing, while Trent Pearce is unavailable and Ryan Bevan will take his place.
“It’ll be a tough game against South and it’s important for us to build on last week’s comeback,” said Lions coach, Geoff Freeman.
South Hobart will be without defender Liam Scott, who has a broken elbow, and Shae Hickey, who injured an ankle at training, while Tom Roach is unavailable.
Jim Pennicott may, therefore, be used as a right-fullback, with Josh Heerey switching to the left-back berth.
David Abbott will be in with a chance of starting.
“We’re very aware of them and the fact that they’re well-organised defensively,” said South Hobart coach, Ken Morton.
“If they’re out for a draw, it’ll be difficult for us and an early breakthrough would be handy.
“Geoff Freeman has had that team together for a few years now and they should be starting to gel because they haven’t really changed their system.”
Taroona will also be out to make it two wins on the trot when they host Tilford Zebras at Kelvedon Park at 2.30pm on Saturday.
“I don’t expect to have to make too many changes to the team that played Olympia,” said Taroona coach, Ben Horgan.
“Everyone is fit, apart from a couple of guys with minor niggles, but nothing I need to worry about.
“Zebras had a good result against South Hobart last weekend and some of us still remember and are embarrassed by the Zebras game two years ago, so we really want to try and make amends with a respectable performance this time around.”
In other matches, Glenorchy Knights take on New Town Eagles at KGV Park on Friday night, while Olympia host Clarence United at South Hobart on Sunday.
Eagles captain Chris Wass will be playing his 150th match for the club.
Simon Strang is injured, while Jacob Clamp and Shane Kent will be on the bench.
“We’ll give Knights a run for their money,” said Eagles coach, George Krambousanos.
The Division One and Social Summer Cup finals are scheduled for Olinda Grove on Saturday.
Kingborough Lions United meet University in the women’s Social Summer Cup final at 10am, while New Town Eagles take on Metro in the men’s final at noon.
“Ben Michell is unavailable this weekend due to his wedding, and an ocean liner of players are unavailable due to joining his celebrations,” said Eagles coach, Martyn Nidorfer.
“They include Nathan Stingle, Ash Geard, Matt Williams, Andrew Zeilinski, Corey O'Brien, Steven Drinkwater, Brent Leonard, Damien Crowle, Craig Crawford, Matty Smith and Jack McCann.
“Brian Zielinski has osteo pubis and Michael Murray a lacerated back and they won’t be risked, meaning youngsters Patrick Shackloth and Steve Vernon will be in the squad.
“The squad, in the diamond formation, is Dave Kruvier, Marcus Proud, Dave Reeve, Damien Bones, Patrick Shackloth, Steve Vernon, Jarred Jones, Richard Leszczynski, James Mackey, Adam Shackloth, Alastair Russell, Richard Ketchell, John Holliday, Marty Nidorfer and Scott Young.
“We are disappointed that so many guys are out, but that happens in football. We will have to make do with the guys available.
“We realise the depth that Metro has and look forward to the challenge ahead.
“It is great to get Damien Bones back into the mix, after the biggest richochet flirt I have witnessed in FFT history, transferring back from University.
“Last week, we played the ball too wide for long periods, and training has focussed on getting the ball into the ‘pinball machine’ as often as possible.”
In the Division One Summer Cup final at 2pm, the Tasmanian Institute of Sport meet Hobart United.
Hobart United will be at full strength and coach Mark Broadbent is confident about his team's chances.
"We've got a full squad and we're feeling fit," said Broadbent.
"There are no injuries and it's out biggest game for a while, probably since we beat Metro in the last game of the season last year to give Taroona the title.
"There's excitement there and we're confident but wary.
"It'd be an upset if they beat us. Our average age is only about 18, too."
In the Southern Women’s Premier League competition on Sunday, Glenorchy Knights meet Taroona at the Showgrounds, Kingborough Lions United take on Clarence United at Lightwood Park, and University host Olympia Warriors at Olinda Grove, with all games starting at 2.30pm.

I don't usually like to make predictions about local results but I will this week;
Kingbrough to cop a pasting possession/play wise but the score won't be a thrashing 3-0 to South.
Zebras to beat Taroona by about the same margin 3-1.
Congrats to Wassy on hitting the 150 mark, I think Knights will be too quick for Eagles 3-1 again.
Olympia v Clarence says draw, maybe 1-1.
I'm pretty sure there a little match being played in Melbourne this weekend that is kind of important as well :P
South 5 King 0
Knights 2 Eagles 0
Zebras 4 Taroona 0
Olympia 1 Clar 1
Melb 3 Syd 2
South may be frustrated by a congested Kingborough formation but should win comfortably.
Taroona should try to keep to their natural game but will struggle to hold off Zebras.
If Eagles allow Knights to dictate play the will go behind early and succumb to the bouyant home team.
Clarence should keep Olympia without a point if they can control the pace of the game.
Melbourne too quick, determined and talented across the park for Sydney.
krambo lol
Predictions, South, Knights, Zebras, Draw (Clarence vs Oly), Melbourne
