If interested in expanding women's results -

Premier League

Kingborough 0 - 7 Tilford (Hartshorn 2, Minty 2, Mangione 2, Dobson )

Reserves

Kingborough 1 (Conlan) - 8 Tilford (Medhurst 4, Cesile 2, Cruz, Jarvis)

Decent games out there today at Lightwood, even if a bit one-sided.

good to see the u/15 fft are going well in DIV1, what can they possibly learn from losing 17-0?

Nelson had a great day at Nth Warrane today. Three games three wins and a clean sheet. I do believe that the 19's and reserves sit at the top of their respective tables and the Div 1 men sit second meeting top of the ladder Beachside next week (should be a great game if today is any indication) It's fantastic to see another Eastern Shore club working hard to fly the flag for the sunny side of the river!

17-0 scoreline in the second best league????????????.when will common sense kick in and decide only teams that prove on the park by winning premierships gain promotion.there a wealth of good players running around in the lower leagues that can provide an exciting comp in div 1 and 2.why not use the lower leagues to strengten our football.the lower league players have as much right to archieve as div and premierleagueplayers.

FFT must be happy with progress of the Under 15 State Team. What a joke.

Anonymous said...

anon 6:44 as a div 1 player i have played the state team. yes, they may be getting smashed in a lot of games, but you should see the physical diference between them and someone like tom gordon(nelson) or jullian proud (uni) i believe despite results the u15 state boys continue to play some of the best football in the league! keep up the hard work guys

Anonymous said...

yes I agree if you are going to represent the state you must play tough opposition if you are to improve. The State U15'S need to learn to dig deep and work that much harder to compensate for the lack of physical presence, it will only help them in the future.

hopefully chris hey will use lee mason in the olympia side more often now.considering he is the best midfielder at the club.

I played against the u15 boys today, Anon 7:04 your comments that the boys are playing some of the best ball in the league is a little bit too highly rated.. After five minutes of todays game it was clear that it was going to be a blow out and all the Beach players stopped going in too hard and began playing 60 percent ball.. It was interesting and good to see and hear most of the beach players encouraging the young boys during the game and after the game, but to be honest besides shooting practice and questions over the tactics the 15's were trying to use the game was a waste, they would be better suited in the u17/18/19's .. nobody learns from 17 -0 .. it it would have been 30 if we were having a real go!!!

well said, its about time he gets a proper run in the side, considering he (and lebski) has been the most consistant player at the club for the last couple of years. also well done to kosta for scoring, the club needs these players playing regularly to survive, still need to win though.

Anonymous said...

maybe clarence and olympia could start their own league so their supporters don't spoil the games for other clubs. seems to be a worrying trend.

I completely agree, when Metro played the under 15's they were 5 or 6 nil up at half time and the final score was 10-3......... admitingly they scored 3 goals but you lose interest after a while........and Metro took Chaffey off at half time which was the difference.

FFT 15's would be much better suited in 17's or 18's league. The only thing it does having them in Div 1 is bores the hell out of the opposition & give Dosa a competitive game!

Anonymous said...

FFT to blame for the ridiculous move to place the U 15 state side in the Div 1 comp.
Surely you should assess the ability and standard of the sides before placing them in a particular league . If I remember correctly, this side was smashed 4 or 5 nil early in the season by the under 14 state side. Lets not kid ourselves ,they are just not up to standard. Whoever was responsible for deciding that they play in this competitition ,or should I say dictated that they play in this competitions, needs to be medically examined. The TIS are doing well because the majority of the boys are a year older and they train 5 days per week. Their football ability and physical strength due to their training, helps them greatly .Bad decision again FFT.

at 15 years old if it was a true state team then they should be able to compete with premier league men, if they are losing 17-0 to beachside than imagine how many new south wales or victoria will pump them by? If you remember back Dale Itchins had his state 15's playing for uni back in the day and they WON the reserve league, so our sport is going backwards at junior level, these 15's lost against the state 14's so what a joke that is??

nelson must be watching with a big smile everytime clarence has a club performance like saturday night?

Anonymous said...

i play for the 15s and we learn a lot from losing, as all these games are just practice games for us as we are really playing for the nationals. while we are playing div 1 and getting smashed most games, this is just a learning curve for us. we are learning from the player sfrom the top clubs like beachside and metro and players like shep and pullen.

Anonymous said...

it is good your learning as you will learn a lot also when you lose 20-o to new south wales at nationals

well done boy
don't listen to some off the negative anos,
as for all we know they are just fat social player, disappointed div1 club supporter or player or a premier league member, who would like to have you playing for them
Beach side is a premier league quality, who draw against south Hobart in a practice match, metro have been in premier before and have worked on their club structured for as long as I can remember and nelson have pick up some very good player especially the GK, wile Dosa,Southern and Hobart united had to survive and work with what they have, easy to judge but bet you they do nothing to help, Go FFT U/15 Play Football and ignore the rest

Anonymous said...

Nothing wrong with the attitude from the U-15's They have some talented players but Div 1 might just be a bit beyond them. i even heard nelsons U-19 team beat them pre season

djalbacore said...

wasit Dales 15,s who won reserve league? just checking and from memory also i do know that Corey slade played in that team and he certainly was not 15..but you are correct these scorelines are a little overwhelming and maybe under 19 comp would still be a physical challenge and closer games.

Anon @8.18am,

Why would that be? Nelson as a club wouldn't be good enough to "clean the boots" of Clarence as a club.

If you ever want to see the difference between a Premier League club and a Div 1 Club, look at the difference between those sides. Even the last time they played each other in a cup match, it was 9-0 or something from memory, in an amateur hour show at Warrane!

I've played for both clubs in the past, and played with players currently playing in both their best teams. Players from Nelson's team wouldn't even make the Premier Reserves team. Then their Div 1 reserves team would be beaten by Clarence's Div 3 teams!

So why would they have a big smile? Because they know they're still going nowhere after all these years?

at the moment there is still a big gap between div 1 and SPL. we will have a few yoyo teams going up and down untill the gap narrows.

Taroona are a better team this season than they were last and will still be in the relegation scrap.

and by the way when you get to 40 plus I bet that physiology kicks in and you put on weight but most of the social players I play with have and still have more football ability and smarts than 90% of div 1 players. it's a terrible standard unfortunately.

walter,
do you have any reliable information about the post match incident involving an olympia official and one of the referees? will FFT impose any penalties on either party?

You are so wrong. u19s nelson team just beat clarence 3-0 and the nelson reserves are on top. the seniors are second vsing beachside for top spot this week. I think nelson would give clarence a run for there money. They might not be quite up to the standards yet, but there not far off.

football abilities; translated to will be experience, at 40 you meant to be experience and Know about every aspect of the game
at 15 to 18 you have about 22 years to get there, but at 20 or 24 years this kids will be on their prime, and you just rise my point, wile you missing the point on youth Development

oh anon 1:47, whatever you are on ill have double. Which Clarence team did Nelsons u19's beat? And Nelsons senior side wouldnt scratch Clarence reserves.

I love it how people talk up the SPL, I'd honestly say one team stands Sthn good brand of football but besides that I would put Nelson, Beach and Hbt united up against the rest and expect good games. Mets with 2 more players would be ok as well. What is missing in the league are those group of players between the age of 30 - 35 that no longer play or commit because they are required to train 2 or 3 nights a week. Experience can't be taught it has to be gained clubs like Zebras, eagles and the like are all showing this

as a parent of one of the u/15 boys,it would be nice to see a few more positive comments as the season is still only very young.

Anonymous said...

us under 15 boys have scored more goals then Southern FC and Dosa put together. i think we willl win more then just one game this year.

im sure there has been a game where the score differnce has been more then 17 goals in the history of Div 1 soccer.

Something positive?

- it's not the boys' fault.
- FFT can learn from this.
- The tough games should prepare them well for what is in store at Nationals
- Coffs Harbour is a nice place to visit in October.

I played for beachside on the weekend. Despite the endeavour of the U15's, the game was played almost entirely one way and not an even contest. The score was officially 16-0 walter with dunne only scoring one.

The effort, talent and potential of the U15's is not in question. In the future they will all hopefully fulfill their potential and play in the SPL or better.

I agree that it is important to give the U15's match practice against stronger opposition who (hopefully) play the game the right way before they go to the mainland.

Having 2-3 close matches per round of 7 seems to be an inefficient way to provide this match practice.

This young group of players will no doubt improve individually and as a team throughout this season. Whether they can become truly competitive in div 1, which is a big step from where they are now, remains to be seen.

The FFT has at the end of the first 1/3 of the seasons football got 1 from 2 right. With the TIS proving they belong by merits in the reserves comp.

It is on FFT to find a suitable forum for this squad of U15's to develop these young players appropriately.

It was actually 17, Klahsen scored 5

don't get cocky as you where lucky that the undisciplined Dosa allowed you guys to score two easy goals
and if Dosa play with discipline, it could been a different game
you guys are playing good football just don't get to carried way;
I hope you guys have good season
with out thinking to high about you self

yes the record was set last year in the reserves by beachside beating dosa 31 - 0

Anonymous said...

31-0?
oh thats a really close game aye.
the 15s went good then

Pixel, FFT are not playing good football, they are I'm the process of learning that. At the end of the day you talk about your team lacking experience, yet against a team with even less experience than yours, you can't even get a win. You say discipline cost you 2 goals, I would say you should have a good look at your structure because you only scored 2 goals yourself against a team of 14 year olds. Take some responsibility for your teams performance, discipline and structure, or you will end up finishing behind fft, which would make your club a laughing stock. Get your act together or resign and let someone who can work with these players take over, someone like Richard Korn.

9:10pm you comment must to have been a joke, LOL
well that is how it sound to me
but I guest you did put a lot off though to it, and yes I take full responsibility for the way we play, but until you have the full fact, you comment have not ground to sit on
here are few for you, but to you the super coach, it will not make any difference , I have 8 players out injured or unavailable,we start from scratch with basically the Under 19 and few senior Richard Korn and Chooper, 6 off those 8 player are my most reliable players, some senior help the res as well, ETC.ETC but no matter what I said the smart ones like you self are never happy :-> LOL
