looks like uni are starting to hit their stride in div 1 now. i think they are now coming second, so watch out beachside
Very good Uni on Sunday against Metro. Big, strong, tall and pretty skilled. Metro boys (and I mean boys), had nothing to be ashamed of. Never threw in the towel at any stage, never made excuses, just got on with the job. In the end those bigger bodies and experience were just too much to overcome on this occassion.
Reckon the kids would have learnt a lot from the game and can look forward to continuous improvement for the rest of the year.
@ I'm back
have to agree, whatever the past criticism of Metro youth policy, it was clearly in evidence on Sunday- a young team with heart took it up to uni and could have scored on several occasion, looks good for the future if they can keep the motivation up
walter did u do a match report on south vs kingo?
Anonymous (7.18pm), I haven't done the report yet, but I will. Cheers!
Metro future does not look bright, does not have a youth team apart from the under 19 in either boys or girls leagues. A big drop from the past five years when they had youth teams going interstate and youth players touring with Vic teams overseas. What's happened there!!!!
wouldn't have said metro could have scored on many occasions - they missed a penalty and had probably three or four legitimate shots. having said that it was very enjoyable to watch and the game was certainly contested and played in good spirit. uni's ball movement and experience got them home in the end. an issue worth raising is the quality of the umpiring - really really average. and the same umpire two weeks in a row is a bit rough for uni there.
yes i agree great game to watch between uni and metro. could of been a different story had luck gone metro's way but was a very good game to watch, on a diff day it could easily of finished 3-0 to metro.
metro did a good job, someone correct me if im wrong but besides wiggins and gaspirin the whole squad was below 21 on sunday, certainly something to look forward too for metro.

The club youth policy and future at Metro FC looks a lot brighter than it ever did.
The "She'll be right Digger" attitude and his mates, have left.
