Nelson reserves are lucky Geoff El Cano Wicks didnt play against the punks to slot another couple past them..... All in a days work for the great man:)

Pretty sure what metro played on the weekend wasn't football... it one of the most dirty and ill-tempered performances i've seen in a long time. Very lucky not to have more players sent off

All i can hear is wahhh wahhh from nelson......:)

No its not the coach, its the lack of commitment from some of the players.

Easy to make slap stick comments. Nelson is a very good club and many of the players get involved in coaching junior squads, running the line, reffing etc. Lots of good people building a solid foundation for the future, typified by the President Bill Hanley who is also a senior player, Youth coach and Association Ref. I reckon Senior coach Mike Roach has probably watched every team in the Club at least once this season. How many other senior coaches can say they do that for their Club? Plenty of positive stuff happening at Nelson and On-field performances of the Senior squad will continue to improve over the coming seasons.

Don't think there are too many complaints from Nelson players about the Metro Game. Metro stuck to their game plan and got the result they were after. With a bit of luck it could have been a different result and this game typifies the season they have had. Probably 1 or 2 impact players short of being a really good consistent squad.

Anon 6:50 PM whos alright in nelson squad? gordan, stockdale, lenck and fon are alright i guess

Anonymous said...

annon 10.12 exactly right

Nelson are good at talking about themselves on the blog. Stockdale and Lenck only people worth talking about. Gordon holds the ball up well but his distribution is average and he turns into players constantly.

When did nelson start rating themselves? I don't recall the mens senior side ever winning anything, and they won't in the future. They can't compete with the top 3 sides in div 1 consistently. Pinching the odd draw doesn't make you successful.

It's great they finish the season at beachside so they can congratulate them on their title and wish then well in the premier league.
