Hey Walter, South's second goal was an own goal, I believe, scored with a magnificent header.

the Metro player is Geoff Wicks

Anonymous 7.04pm. Ken Morton told me it was Lo, while Launceston coach Mark Egan told me it was an own goal. I was at the far end of the ground and didn't get a clear view.
Cheers!

JR17, thanks for that. Much appreciated. I'll add that.
Cheers!

poor result for Olympia but maybe Metro are a real promotion prospect this year.

South bossed the first half but struggled to convert. Launcetson Utd responded very well after the break to take the game right up to the Southerners but quality finally prevailed.

Well done to United.

Walter, I believe South's second goal came from a Nick Cuthbertson header. Pretty sure Lo scored the third.

No worries Walter

Anonymous at 7.28. Which part s of the game you saw today were real trash from Olympic and which parts from Metro were real trash.

I wait to be enlightened.

Hi Walter

South`s second goal WAS an own goal scored by their big africian center back, he managed to turn a great cross into his own goal! Great goal just a shame it wasnt for United.

Anonymous at 7.28. As a follow up from my previous post, I've only just thought to ask you; if both sides were as you described, what were you doing there watching ?

Have you got enough guts to tell us what club your from. I'm from Metro !

Metro everything they need to make this year, if they keep it consistent, but some comment by some people in the blog are a trash like the one who write them.

Thanks to chris and olympia for coming out today i thought either team could have won thought both keepers were great for there sides

As for the results practice games are not about results it about coachs looking at players and getting what they want out of the game.
Chris hey is a top coach and olympia will be fine so dont get carryed away anon7.28 .As for metro we have a lot of work to do to get to our goal this year you dont win preimerships in febuary and i am sure uni, taroona, nelson, and hobart united well be very hard to beat once again thanks chris and your boys and best of luck for the year.

metro scored 2 very well constructed goals. wiggins was the best defender on the ground. olympia had plenty of chances to win the game.

how is that tackle from daniel "kevin muscat" brown and i bet its no foul given!!

"Thanks to chris and olympia for coming out today i thought either team could have won thought both keepers were great for there sides"

Biggest backhand compliment is to say opposition goalie had a good game. I didn't think McKenna did much at all really whereas Metro goalie had some great saves. Olympia were very unlucky not to get a result after the chances they created in second half.

Anonymous 7.51am, can you please tell me who it is then?

I think probably Chris Hey is well behind where he would have liked to have been at this stage. It has been difficult to replace Hedge, Tracy and Richardson. There have been a number of comings and goings which hasn't helped the situation and his back line on Saturday (with Jayden Hey only playing the last 20 mniutes) was very underdone and it showed. In fact, of the back 5 only one played with the Club last year, the others have not been training much and the team suffered as a result. Definitely more work to be done there.

While the midfield was OK, - the team created enough chances to easily win the game - the last minute withdrawal of Josh Fielding who was stripped and ready to go (hope all is well Josh) and the abesence of Club Champion Chris Kumpalianen did not help especially as Josh's late departure left the team with no fresh subs (other than Hey who was on physio's orders not to come on until final 20 minutes). Then Lee Mason left after half an hour.

Kosta Grillas may have put a couple of those good chances away had he not been fighting cyclones in Queensland.

Really, on a small, hard cow paddock not a lot to be gleaned from the match other than Mr Hey is hopefully a match closer to sorting out his defence AND Metro are looking pretty sharp.

walter the launceston united player is thors nimely i believe

Anon 10.17

Mackenna made two top saves in the second half and while Nathan was the better keeper on the day, the two saves that Mackenna pulled off were top draw.

oh dear its funny how metro people think

i'm an eagles boy and watched your game against olympia and played against you on the cow paddock and cant wait to shut you all up in the summer cup

Anonymous at 6,42. You weren't one of those lazy buggers from Eagles wandering around aimlessly in defence cos you looked like you'd eaten tooooooo many hamburgers in batter were you ?

Anonymous said...

its funny when eagle people complain about other pitches i mean you play on clare street clearly you have no idea.

Well said Anon 11:16 AM. Richardson and Hedge did a massive job for olympia to keep them up as did Fletch late in the year. Where is Kumpa? Olympia will keep their head above water this season just

Anonymous said...

kumpa is around but not at training enough. there are comments from walter and others on another thread about lack of commitment and priorities. it seems that there are just not enough seriously committed players around to feed 8 spl teams - especially when probably 1/4 of them are at Sth hobart. olympia will survive but they are still a couple of years and a couple of extra players away from being truly compeititive.
