Well done beachside and Nelson. Great game, full of passion and skill from both teams.
beachside to struggle in prem if they cant beat nelson ha
i agree cause nelson are average at best
How can you judge either team based on this game? Conditions would have been horrid - look at those pictures! It's impossible to play good football on a pond.
Nelson were probably favourites going into this match as that's what it is like playing on North Warrane every week!
Very Entertaining and even game in difficult conditions. Thought Beach was lucky to get the penalty as Nelson player clearly tackled from the side and got all Ball, but was adjudged to have tackled from behind. Gordons Free kick goal was a jet and Pullens lob pass over the defence to Shep was just awesome with a superb finish as well. Loved the game
the conditions were not conducive to attractive 'champagne' football. nelson and beachside both played well considering.
next season is next season. beachside along with all other premier league teams will be judged by the table at the end of the year.
Nelson should have a good season next year with their current group of young players. I would think that the competition will be tough up top in div 1 between Uni, Metro, Taroona, Hobart United and Nelson.
Beachside will struggle in Premier League if some of their players don't lose 15kg's each
we thought beachside would do well in a pond as many of them have started to get a duck like look about them with their old age
quack quack come on the mighty ducks... i mean chicken men
Walter, not sure if you're over this story, buy Brett Pullen confirmed as Beachside coach next year due to Robinson being unavailable to commit to coaching full time at SPL level?
Anonymous 7.02pm, I did know about it because the Beachside coach told me about it in the post-match interview. I then approached Brett, who asked me not to say anything as it was still tentative and nothing had been decided. I don't think I'm talking out of school now because it's been in the press and on here, but the reason I didn't run the story was because Brett asked me not to.
Disappointing the ref didn't use his full array of cards. A blatant studs up, double footed slide tackle from behind on one of nelson's young forwards on a break failed to attract neither penalty nor red card.
As a spectator watching I noticed after the game that the player who commuted the foul on the young striker would not shake his hand. Dissaponting to see poor sportsmanship.

Welcome to the party buddy. The Jason Dawes challenge in the Metro vs Beachside game, halfway though the season. It got nothing at all and an ambulance had to be called for Dawes
not sure why you're complaining about a penalty for a tackle made from behind in the box, especially when you're first goal was offside by 3 meters.
as far as your young strikers getting dirty tackles all day, the trouble was they were going down quicker than a pro in a brothel. They call it simulation these days.
Better stop eating all that Chicken Beachside or you won't be able to run.
