Premier League outfit New Town Eagles had 21 players at training at Cornelian Bay last night.

The club started pre-season training last week and last night’s session was its second.

Goalkeepers Craig Minty and Liam Ferrall were in attendance, but number one keeper Nathan Pitchford is studying in Launceston and was unable to come down for the session.

Ferrall is still recovering from a knee injury and did not train last night.

Ben Whitehall, Mark Page, Michael Anderson, Nick Ferrall, Andrew Clark, Jacob Clamp and Alex Leszczynski were other senior players present last night.

Coach George Krambousanos, in his third consecutive season with the club, supervised training.

Team manager Kevin Clamp was also present.

Agree eagles will be competetive this year, they work well together as a team and had some good hard fought matches last year against the top teams its just a matter of the boys getting the results. I think also a good signing of reserves coaches, could be an interesting year

did krambo tell you this? who would go to eagles seriously?

Crosswell is going up north and MIGHT play up there. Hickey is going to the North Pole and who is Chalky Russell?

Eagles can be good if they get some consistency. May still be some new faces around in 2011 but core group should be the same. Have you seen in players movements at any training sessions yet Walter?

Anonymous 6.56pm, the Eagles session was the first I have seen, and I stumbled upon that by accident. I haven't seen any other club's pre-season as yet.

Walter,

What would we do without your committed efforts in bringing the latest news to Tasmanian football followers?

Eagles could be a dark horse if they get some decent away results. They have a good record at Clare St. But where are their supporters? It was a ghost town last year.

Shane Kent is competing in Iron Man 2011

Walter,

Keen eye would observe that it is not tape on Alex's leg, just his skin-shorts. There is not enough tape in this world to support his monstrous legs, surprised there are shorts that big!!!
