Adelaide United are back on track after this 2-0 away win over Melbourne Heart at AAMI Park this evening.

The win, which came after three losses from four outings, put Adelaide just 2 points adrift of A-League leaders Brisbane Roar.

Heart remain 5th and 2 points ahead of city rivals Melbourne Victory, who are in 6th spot.

Robbie Cornthwaite headed Adelaide in front in the 5th minute following Cassio’s free-kick from the right.

The visitors’ second goal came in the 73rd minute after Sergio Van Dijk has slipped the ball into the box for substitute Cameron Watson. He played the ball wide to the left for substitute Iain Ramsay, whose chip was headed against the underside of the bar by defender Aziz Behich. The ball bounced down and off the underside of the bar again before Marcos Flores forced it over the line.

Van Dijk had a couple of good chances to increase Adelaide’s tally, but he was off target on both occasions.
