Gary Slicer has been appointed coach of Division One club Taroona for the 2011 season.

“Gary brings his experience coaching State youth squads to the club and we are extremely happy to have him on board,” said Taroona president, John Meehan.

“We believe he is the right coach to build on the fantastic development that Ben Horgan has taken the young senior squad through.

“Gary will also play an active role in on-going youth development at Taroona.

“Gary has started pre-season sessions with the seniors.”

Dirk Gadd has been retained as Taroona’s Premier women’s coach for the 2011 season.

“Dirk took the women to both the State-wide Cup final and their win in the State-wide final and the club is excited at the prospect of another great season for them under his guidance and coaching,” Meehan said.

“The pathway that Dirk and the team provide for our growing crop of girls is a positive development for Taroona.”
